At least the facade is over and I can share my excitement and childish 'how many sleeps' countdown with my other, equally childish counterparts :) I am SO looking forward to Singapore!! This will be our first real break since Christmas. We did have a weekend away in June, but as you will have read, there was so much crap going on with work at this time that we didn't really unwind and weren't able to relax and enjoy ourselves.
Things are still busy at home with the kids and their schedules! Adam's Multilit has been extended to 10 weeks now, so we're at school for 8am for two days a week and 8.30am for another two. Adam isn't happy as he insists he doesn't need help (and misses out on daily fitness on his two 'late' days). Although he was slightly happier last week as the support classroom was home to some baby chicks that were being hatched, so he got to see the updates first hand. He is being called Ad-dumb by some of his 'friends', so that's probably not fuelling his enthusiasm :( Never mind. The Teacher's say he is making progress and that is all that matters. He has an assignment to do this week on the fantasically, super-duper topic of (wait for it!) Julia Gillard! Whoop! The excitement, eh? Adam had a Lasertag birthday party yesterday for Bailey (one of his friends from soccer). The weather was foul, but the boys seemed to enjoy themselves running about like looneys in the wind and rain.
Sam is off school at the moment with a cold. There are quite a few of his mates all off with the same thing. It doesn't help that the weather is warm one day and freezing cold the next and yesterday and today we've been 'enjoying' hurricane force winds, horizontal rain and blizzard conditions! Absolutely foul!! My toes are frozen as I write this!
Sam is still enjoying work. He seems to have taken to it like a duck to water. He has tried all different aspects of the restaurant, from grill to deli to fryer and has mastered them all! We have changed his bank account to now include an ATM card, so he has access to his money. He has spent it in his head about 50 different ways! Everytime you talk to him, he's decided he wants to buy something else with it.

Sam went into Perth with his friends yesterday. He hasn't got his Bank Card yet, so went into a branch to withdraw some money. When I picked him up, me had a bag from a jewellers - I was about to jokingly scold him about spending his money on girls when he said it was a present for me! ♥ He spent his first wage packet (in front of his friends) on buying me a necklace because he thought I deserved it ♥ sometimes your kids take your breath away and make you realise that perhaps you aren't doing such a bad job as a Mum. Bless xx
It's Sam's birthday in a few weeks. Can't quite believe he'll be 15! My baby boy now towers above me :( He's a chick magnet (yes, even more than previously - if that's possible) and seems a fairly well-rounded individual. I think working is good for him. He's like a reformed character when he comes out of work. He buys stuff to give to Ads and P and this weekend, he's taken them out for bike rides and even walked the dog.
Darcie had her school assembly last week though, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Her Class told the story of the first Olympics. It was really good!
